The
Boom is over, so I can finally post all of the graphic material
created for the event.
(Wasn't allowed to post this material before because of possible forgeries made
from
the images...)
For those of you who didnt have the opportunity to go... Go to the 2008 edition.
Even
if you dont really enjoy Psy-Trance music, even if you dont like camping,
you
have to go to the Boom.
Its one of the best organized festivals around, with plenty of things to do,
see and hear.
I heard a lot of nicknames for the event (everything from
Disneyland
for Freaks, Trustafarian Resort and Pirate Island)
but you should go and see
for yourself - its a truly unique gathering
of some of the most excentric people
that roam this planet.
You'll have a very good time for sure. |

The
Dance Floor
The main concept for this edition of the Boom was "the Tree of
Life", depicted in the logo,
and an actual 10m tall tree was built in the middle of the main
dance floor. |

By initiative of the decor team, the entire floor was covered in a
shading mesh
replicating the aboriginal dot-graphix from the poster.

for each of the 5 days.

the communication of Tamariz Club Summer of 2006 is "Prommenade
sur la Croisette". The whole identity is inspired in french muses
from the 60s, set in the south of france using colourful summer colours.

capital sins", the opening night sin is "envy".
Apart form the sins, the underlying concept is Jezebel as

I was recently contacted by Nexus Productions (check out their
folio, they absolutely kick ass in animation) to create
the background scenaries for a Vodafone advertisment pitch.
In the end the client chose to create the advertisment in
live shooting instead of animation... but i decided to post
the images created anyway... the two images below were originally
what atracted the Nexus crew to my style.

Juan my partner at thestudio was working on Pedroso & Osorio's new fabrics catalogue
and came up with the idea of creating neo-classical paintings
to represent each fabric set. The original photographs were
taken by Rui Aguiar, according to Juan's production and styling,
I worked on the massive light and illustration retouching.
The main idea here was to get the viewer to look closely at
the end results in doubt if the images were photography or
painting. In all there are seven images in the series.

Two versions were presented for each proposal, one with a
pop-up (like kids books) and one with simple fold.
The version of proposal 2 presented here (with the pop-up
theater curtain and the couple satnding in the center) is
my favourite solution for this project, the final version
that was produced had no pop-up and the couple was replaced
by the 501 pants shown in proposal one.
